Together with UAB Plungės lagūna, we completed the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment plant at the Lithuanian Sea Museum. The new treatment plant treats wastewater generated by the dolphin pool and the seal rehabilitation centre.
Together with UAB Plunges laguna, we completed the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment plant at the Lithuanian Sea Museum. The new treatment plant treats wastewater generated by the dolphin pool and the seal rehabilitation centre.
The wastewater treatment system installed by us is based on SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) technology. In sequencing batch reactors, the biological wastewater treatment processes take place in timed cycles within a single tank.
For preliminary wastewater treatment, drum screens with 1.5 mm openings were installed, enabling the removal of very fine solids. A dissolved air flotation (DAF) unit was installed for the treatment of process wastewater.
The wastewater treated in the SBR reactors is directed to the process wastewater equalisation tank, where the streams are mixed to achieve a higher overall treatment efficiency.
The achieved treated wastewater parameters are:
- Total phosphorus (P): <1 mg/l
- Total nitrogen (N): <5 mg/l
- BOD7: <5 mg/l
