Adjacent to the existing Pabradė wastewater treatment plant, we are constructing new treatment facilities that will increase the plant’s capacity from 4,600 PE to 9,750 PE.
The reconstruction works carried out throughout this year include the installation of a new integrated preliminary treatment unit together with an extension of the existing building, as well as a new wastewater distribution chamber equipped with stainless steel gates. Two independent biological treatment lines are being installed, each comprising anaerobic, denitrification and nitrification zones.
New 10 m diameter secondary clarifiers with rotating sludge scrapers are also being constructed. Next to the bioreactors, we have built an activated and excess sludge pumping station, together with an above-ground structure housing the blowers and the electrical switchboard.
In addition, a new sludge treatment facility is being constructed, incorporating sludge thickening and dewatering equipment as well as reagent preparation systems.
Following reconstruction, the total treatment capacity of the plant will be 285 m³/h.
The target treated wastewater parameters are:
- BOD₅: 25.0 mg O₂/l
- Total phosphorus: 2.0 mg P/l
- Total nitrogen: 20.0 mg N/l
- Suspended solids: 25.0 mg/l
